Entire bed frame built from large, hand-peeled ASPEN logs & sturdy lumber creating a one-of-a-kind log bed. Each piece is full of character with knots, worm holes, color variations or other characteristic features. High posts on the headboard. Extra rails and rungs in the footboard. Two full log side rails on each side of the bed with rungs inbetween (no metal side rails) for added strength and to keep the rustic look a log bed was meant to have. Rough cut lumber mattress supports to give your mattress the support it needs. Sturdy 100% mortise & tenon construction (including the mattress supports) meaning each log end is tenoned to fit inside a hole drilled in an adjoining log and then bolted together (see pictures below). Dowels to cover all showing holes. Comes already finished with Benjamin Moore Brand Finish (click here for more information on Benjamin Moore Finish).
