Entire bed frame built from nice-sized lodgepole pine logs
& sturdy lumber. Full log side rails (no metal side rails)
for added strength and to keep the rustic look a log bed was
meant to have. Rough cut lumber mattress supports to give
your mattress the support it needs. Sturdy 100% mortise &
tenon construction (including the mattress supports) meaning
each log end is tenoned to fit inside a hole drilled in an
adjoining log and then bolted together. Comes

*It
is a rarity to find log or rustic furniture that is built
using kiln-dried
lumber. But not only do we
build our products using kiln-dried lumber, we build them
using RUSTIC
kiln-dried lumber. This means
that our products have a rough-cut, old time look with color
variations and saw marks, yet they are VERY smooth to the
touch. Our lumber spends a great deal of time in a kiln in
order to stabilize the moisture content within it. Although
this is a very expensive and time-consuming process, it ensures
the longevity of our furniture by greatly reducing the changes
of warping or cracking over time. In addition, kiln-dried
lumber will take finish better,
last longer and will have much stronger joints.
If
furniture is built with lumber that has NOT been kiln-dried,
it is a good indication of the builder trying to save money
and it is not worth the cost savings.
