Bedroom Chest - 4212, 4212C:

Our solid pine bedroom chest is built to last with beautiful log trim to match our other handcrafted log furniture. Made with rustic, high quality kiln dried lumber*, and has rough stock panels for a smooth rustic feel. A very strong stay open hinge is used making it safe for little hands. Built tough so it can withstand abuse from any little or big tikes.

Construction: Solid high quality, kiln-dried lumber throughout, rough cut lumber side panels for added character and a smooth rustic feel. Trimmed with log trim on the sides and a log handle to match our other log furniture. Comes with a very strong stay open hinge, with slow smooth hydraulic movement so little hands don't get pinched. It stays open by itself until it is pushed down.

*It is a rarity to find log or rustic furniture that is built using kiln-dried lumber. But not only do we build our products using kiln-dried lumber, we build them using RUSTIC kiln-dried lumber. This means that our products have a rough-cut, old time look with color variations and saw marks, yet they are VERY smooth to the touch. Our lumber spends a great deal of time in a kiln in order to stabilize the moisture content within it. Although this is a very expensive and time-consuming process, it ensures the longevity of our furniture by greatly reducing the changes of warping or cracking over time. In addition, kiln-dried lumber will take finish better, last longer and will have much stronger joints.

If furniture is built with lumber that has NOT been kiln-dried, it is a good indication of the builder trying to save money and it is not worth the cost savings.
