GoodTimber Bookcase - GT4002:

Custom built log bookcases or entertainment centers can be used for books,
knickknacks, or corner decor and can be built to your specifications.

GoodTimber Bookcase

Construction: Built from nice-sized, lodgepole pine logs & sturdy kiln-dried lumber* creating a one-of-a-kind piece. Full of character with knots, worm holes, color variations or other characteristic features. Sturdy 100% mortise & tenon construction meaning each log end is tenoned to fit inside a hole drilled in an adjoining log and then bolted together (see pictures below).

*It is a rarity to find log or rustic furniture that is built using kiln-dried lumber. But not only do we build our products using kiln-dried lumber, we build them using RUSTIC kiln-dried lumber. This means that our products have a rough-cut, old time look with color variations and saw marks, yet they are VERY smooth to the touch. Our lumber spends a great deal of time in a kiln in order to stabilize the moisture content within it. Although this is a very expensive and time-consuming process, it ensures the longevity of our furniture by greatly reducing the changes of warping or cracking over time. In addition, kiln-dried lumber will take finish better, last longer and will have much stronger joints.

If furniture is built with lumber that has NOT been kiln-dried, it is a good indication of the builder trying to save money and it is not worth the cost savings.

Disclaimer:
Please remember that rustic furniture is a very characteristic brand of furniture, we say regular furniture is a science, & log furniture is an art. Therefore, when a customer gets a piece, it will be somewhat abstract & different, causing and including, but not limited to, beautiful curves, bends, cracks, and all kinds of color variations. WOOD CHECKING, knots, warps in wood, & very inconsistent on measurements & spacing. We're sure you will appreciate this uniqueness & realize that this is the type of furniture that was bought. We do not expect you to ignore a problem, if it occurs, but once in a while, people will see this type of art and natural beauty as a mistake, not realizing that this is the rusticity and beauty of this type of furniture. Fortunately, most of our customers are appreciative; we do attract the nicest and best customers in the nation!
