GoodTimber Writing Desk - GT4004:

Our GoodTimber Writing Desk will provide the perfect place to sit and write
letters, pay bills, or place your laptop computer. Like all our cabinetry, this
log writing desk is built very well. This is a very sturdy piece of furniture.

Construction: Solid high quality pine table top made with kiln-dried lumber* & base (top has routered edges) with beautiful lodgepole pine log legs & trim to match our other GoodTimber log furniture. Sturdy 100% mortise& tenon construction meaning each log end is tenoned to fit inside a hole drilled in an adjoining log and then bolted together (see pictures below).

*It is a rarity to find log or rustic furniture that is built using kiln-dried lumber. But not only do we build our products using kiln-dried lumber, we build them using RUSTIC kiln-dried lumber. This means that our products have a rough-cut, old time look with color variations and saw marks, yet they are VERY smooth to the touch. Our lumber spends a great deal of time in a kiln in order to stabilize the moisture content within it. Although this is a very expensive and time-consuming process, it ensures the longevity of our furniture by greatly reducing the changes of warping or cracking over time. In addition, kiln-dried lumber will take finish better, last longer and will have much stronger joints.

If furniture is built with lumber that has NOT been kiln-dried, it is a good indication of the builder trying to save money and it is not worth the cost savings.
